Apocalypse

I haven't posted in awhile but have been quite busy.  This is actually the second version of a photomanipulation created from an original picture taken by my daughter.  After first editing in Lightroom, spent about an hour cutting out the hip hop team.  From there combined a number of photoshop tricks to generate the checkered floor, floor light effects, shadows, star background, stars and exploding dead planet. I finished it up with some color blending and lighting effects and added the text.

Team Apocalypse

Mixed a little hip hop with the streets of Cincinnati and an accidental text effect and there you go...

Dance

In honor of the new hip hop season for my daughter's team, here's a photomanipulation of the coach.

Destiny

This is one of my favorites so far and another composition of several of my photos.  This one took about 3 hours.

First Fire of the Season

Haven't had much time lately, so decided to take a shot of the first fire of the season.  Always love a good fire.

#TBT a bit late

So I decided that I'd do a little "throwback Thursday" in honor of Alexa who we hope to see dancing again in the near future.  It would have been done yesterday but took a bit longer than I thought.

Hope you all had a good Happy Thanksgiving!

Carter Park Excursion

Decided to check out Carter Park in Mason, Ohio.  (link to full size pictures on Flickr
King's Mansion
One of the area quilt barns is on the site.
I always understood it was just the location for the King's Mansion, but turns out there are some really nice trails both paved and rugged.  The unpaved trails take you to and around the Little Miami river where you will find some interesting attractions.

This one is from the banks of the river near a few campfire rings.
Not sure if this meant I wasn't supposed to be here or what.

Tranquility

A few photos and from Voice of America MetroPark in Butler County, Ohio.  Took a walk/climb to the top of the hill at the park and this is what I was able to capture.

Salsa on the Square w/ Dan Barger

Decided to check out my brother-in-law at Salsa on the Square at Fountain Square in Cincinnati, Ohio.  One of his bands, Salsa Caliente, reunited after about a year since their last performance.

The perfect weather, great music, and dance lessons, brought out a sizable crowd of dancers.

And, of course, you had Dan, the man, doin' his thing...(lots more Dan pics here)

After show fireworks, capped off the evening.

2013 Family Photoshoot

I'm finally getting around to posting pictures from our family photoshoot.  This is my first attempt at a photoshoot, all using self-timer.  They were all taken in October 2013 on a nice fall day in Pine Hill Park in Mason.

The biggest challenge was keeping everyone happy long enough to setup a good pose, set the timer, and run back into position.  I chose the picture above because it's one of my favorites with the detail of the leaves in the foreground and the backlight from the sun.

I've also posted many of the others here.

Stix Baseball

Had the opportunity to watch a Stix baseball game at the new P&G Urban Youth Academy fields in Cincinnati.  The complex just recently opened and featured field turf for the infield grass and basepaths.  Excellent facility!

Here's a few pictures from the game with Gage and Tyler.

Jacked In

This is the first official post of my new photography blog.  I'll be posting all of my public pictures to Flickr and use this blog to share more information and highlight some of my favorite photos.

This is one of my recent photo manipulations of the Pride Senior Hip Hop team.

Enjoy!
